Our five different wood species allow you to customize your cabinets to the exact style you have in mind. You may choose from hickory, alder, oak, cherry or maple and one of our unique finishes to provide a tailored look for your installation.
KNOTTY SELECTION
Available in all wood species on a selected series of door styles; see door specifications. Knott size, shape and frequency will vary per wood species.
RIDGED THERMAFOIL SELECTION White RTF
Smooth finished RTF doors are available in a selected group of full overlay door styles. The 16 mil Thick durable Vinyl film is applied over medium density fiber board. The face frame and trim molding are painted to match. This easy care finish may be cleaned using a mild detergent and water to maintain the clean fresh finish. RTF doors are more susceptible to damage from heat sources and steps must be taken to protect the doors using heat shields and or proper placement and space from heat sources.
FINISH OPTIONS
Edgewater uses the durable Danspeed clear coat system as an integral part of our 10 year warranty. Danspeed clear coat is a cross hybrid conversion lacquered system with the durability of conversion varnish and flexibility of a catalyzed lacquer.
Edgewater uses both wiping stains and spray stain systems to obtain the optimal grain definition and uniformity of color. Lighter colored stains will further accent the natural characteristics of the selected hardwood; while darker colors will tend to blend the variations to a more uniform color.
Each wood species will respond differently to the various stains offered.
Glazing is a process that creates a highlighting of the natural and artificial surface changes. Glaze is applied to the entire exterior surface of the product then hand wiped to remove the excess material leaving behind accenting highlights and a slight change to the overall color; adding depth and definition. The effects of glazing will vary by door style and wood species; along with the natural variations of the process to create a unique product.
